Stabilized and hydrogenated version of squalene — a lipid naturally present at 12% in human sebum. Now sourced from olive or sugarcane (no animal derivatives). Its perfect biocompatibility makes it the most tolerated oil in cosmetics.

Mécanisme
Action moléculaire
Squalane integrates into the lipid matrix of the stratum corneum because its structure mimics natural sebum squalene. It restores impermeability, reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and neutralizes lipid peroxides.
Origine et tradition
Du palais aux laboratoires
Squalene was identified in shark liver (skualos = shark in Greek) in 1916. Its stabilized plant version (squalane) was commercialized from the 1990s. It became essential in premium K-beauty in the years 2015.
