Le mécanisme
Bakuchiol activates the RAR nuclear receptors like retinol, but via a different pathway. It stimulates the synthesis of collagen I and III without inducing the typical retinol-related weakening of the skin barrier. Compatible with pregnancy (retinol is contraindicated).
Tradition ancestrale
Used in Ayurvedic medicine for 3,000 years for skin inflammation. Its modern cosmetic use began in 2007 (Sytheon study). K-beauty massively adopted it from 2020 in 'clean anti-aging' routines.
