Mécanisme

Action moléculaire

Honey is a humectant: it draws water from the atmosphere toward the skin. The polyphenols (chrysin, pinobanksin) are antioxidants. Glucose oxidase produces hydrogen peroxide in tiny quantities — hence the antibacterial effect without irritation. The slow sugars nourish the skin microbiome.

Origine et tradition

Du palais aux laboratoires

Honey has been part of Korean cuisine and medicine since the Goguryeo kingdom (37 BCE). Under Joseon, raw honey was a royal gift. The king's concubines applied it as a mask three times a week — one of the most documented secrets of the palace. Today, the Jeolla beekeepers still work according to the ancient methods.
