Le mécanisme
Propolis contains over 300 bioactive compounds: flavonoids (galangin, pinocembrin), phenolic acids (CAPE), terpenes. CAPE (caffeic acid phenethyl ester) has been particularly studied for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and topical antitumor action.
Tradition ancestrale
Honey and its derivatives were considered 'elixirs of immortality' under Joseon. King Sukjong (1661-1720) consumed it daily. Propolis, more difficult to harvest, was reserved for royal baths and the queen's facial care — applied as a compress once a week to preserve the complexion from within.
