Peony

Paeonia lactiflora · 작약 (Jakyak)

The peony root — not the flower — is one of the most precious ingredients in traditional pharmacopoeia. It contains paeoniflorins and albiflorins with anti-inflammatory, firming and brightening effects. It is the active of high-end Korean 'royal skin' serums.

Type de peau

Mature, spot-prone skin, loss of firmness, first wrinkles.

Concentration

Recommended concentration: 0.5 to 3% standardized extract.

Compatibilité

Pairs very well with: ginseng, propolis, peptides, niacinamide, vitamin C.

Bénéfices sur la peau

  • Firming and anti-aging effect
  • Brightening of dark spots
  • Powerful anti-inflammatory
  • Stimulation of microcirculation
  • Healthy-glow effect
  • Soothing of sensitive skin

Comment ça agit, scientifiquement

Paeoniflorin inhibits tyrosinase (effect on spots) and modulates the NF-κB pathway (anti-inflammatory). The root polysaccharides stimulate fibroblasts (collagen synthesis). The overall effect is denser, more even, more luminous skin.
