Houttuynia cordata · 어성초 (Eoseongcho)
Nicknamed 'fish herb' because of its distinctive smell, eoseongcho is one of the most powerful medicinal plants in the Korean pharmacopoeia. Natural antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and purifying — it is the ally of problem skin (acne, dermatitis).

Action moléculaire
Decanoyl acetaldehyde (a sulfur compound) directly inhibits the growth of Cutibacterium acnes — the bacterium responsible for acne inflammation. Quercetin and rutin modulate the inflammatory cascade and neutralize free radicals.
Origine et tradition
Du palais aux laboratoires
Eoseongcho has been used in traditional Korean medicine since the kingdom of Silla. The Donguibogam cites it for treating skin infections, pneumonia and digestive inflammation. In cosmetics, peasant women used a decoction of it to treat pimples and irritations.
